Mid Back Pain

Mid back pain is one of the most common complaints that patients report when they visit our clinics.

The mid back area, known as the Thoracic spine, normally  is comprised of 12 vertebra and the accompanying 12 ribs.

Symptoms of mid back pain can range from muscle spasms, trigger points in the muscles (extremely tender areas), restricted range of motion while bending and twisting or stabbing pain that radiates from the mid back around the ribs to the chest. These symptoms can at times be so severe that patients think that they are having a heart attack. Rib distortions caused by abnormal curves in the mid back can cause breathing problems like shortness of breath.

Our approach to treating your mid back pain is to focus on the structural imbalances that are often found in the thoracic spine that are causing your symptoms. Our treatment protocol of specific chiropractic adjustments and physiotherapy has proven to provide significant improvement or elimination of your mid back pain.
