Arm Pain, Wrist Pain, Hand Pain
Schumacher Chiropractic relieves arm, wrist and hand pain with gentle adjustments.
Arm, shoulder, wrist and hand pain or numbness is most often related to misaligned or subluxated neck vertebra. These subluxated joints cause inflammation of the ligaments that hold the spinal joints together. This inflammation in turn causes a chemical reaction that irritates the nerve which provokes your arm pain or numbness. Another cause of nerve irritation can be bulging or herniated discs which can actually “pinch” the nerves as they leave the spinal cord resulting in the same type of arm pain. This form of nerve irritation can also include weakness of the muscles in your arm, wrist or hand. Many times patients come to our office with a previous diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome that is not responding to therapy, only to find out that their hand pain and numbness is actually related to irritated nerves in their neck.
Our approach to treating arm pain is to start with a comprehensive chiropractic examination that focuses on the structures in the neck in order to determine if your pain is indeed related to nerve irritation in this area. Most often this is the case and gentle chiropractic adjustments of your neck vertebra are able to relieve or eliminate your arm, wrist or hand symptoms.
